Queen Margrethe II has to undergo “extensive surgery” on her back, according to a press release.
Margrethe II (82), Queen of Denmark, has to undergo an operation on her back. That divided the royal house in an official statement.
The Queen has been suffering from back problems for “some time”. The situation has deteriorated recently, he said. After consulting specialists, Margrethe II has now decided to “undergo an extensive operation”.
Long rehabilitation
The date for the operation has already been set: on February 22, the queen will go to the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. She will also be treated as an inpatient there after the operation. A longer rehabilitation is to be expected, according to the press release.
Official dates will therefore be postponed or taken care of by other members of the royal family, it is said.
