For the 96th birthday we went to Sandringham. After her return, Queen Elizabeth II got back to work in a good mood.

Even a queen needs a little break sometimes. Most recently, Queen Elizabeth II spent her 96th birthday in Sandringham, far away from all the hustle and bustle. After about a week, the Queen returned from her country home to Windsor Castle. There the monarch went back to work on Thursday.

On April 28, Queen Elizabeth II received the President of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis (61), and his wife Paola Cassis. As can be seen in several pictures from the appointment, the Queen was in a very good mood during the audience. Both the palace as also cassis published impressions of the visit on their Instagram accounts.

“A great honor” for Ignazio Cassis

It was “a great honor” to meet Queen Elizabeth II, the Federal President said on the social media platform. Cassis also congratulated the Queen on her platinum anniversary. Elizabeth ascended the throne in February 1952, 70 years ago. A four-day spectacle in honor of the Queen is planned for June. As early as 2020, former Minister of Culture Oliver Dowden (43) announced a show that would only happen once in a generation.
