No more regular alcohol: On the advice of her doctors, Queen Elizabeth II should do without her beloved martini with immediate effect.

The British monarch Queen Elizabeth II (95) should do without her favorite drink in the future. Like the magazine “Vanity Fair” citing two friends close to the family, the doctors imposed a strict martini ban on her. Allegedly, the queen is said to have taken an evening drink every evening before going to bed. Usually she treats herself to a martini. This should be over now.

For her personally, this is not a bad thing, as she is basically not a big drinker. However, it seems a little “unfair” that she has to forego some pleasure in her advanced age, reports one of the family friends. Although she is physically completely healthy, the doctors advise her to give up her daily alcohol. On special occasions, however, she is still allowed a sip, it is said.

Gin and martini instead of wine

The Queen and her drinking habits were a recurring topic in the British gossip columns. In the past it was said several times that the 95-year-old prefers to drink a martini or a small glass of gin. Your favorite cocktail is either a Dubonnet with gin on ice, garnished with a lemon wedge, or a dry gin martini. As she only revealed at an event in 2019, however, she does not drink pure wine. Once only leaked from the palace that Queen Elizabeth II likes to indulge in a glass of champagne every now and then.
