The Queen took a trip to Sandringham for her birthday. Now the monarch has returned to Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 96th birthday at Sandringham last Thursday. Now the monarch is back at Windsor Castle, like the palace according to People magazine informed. The Queen had traveled to her country estate in Norfolk, which is about 180 kilometers north of London, last week.

Did the Queen spend her birthday at Wood Farm?

On her birthday, the 96-year-old was spotted driving around the property. Photos show her wearing sunglasses and pink lipstick in the passenger seat of a Range Rover. As the “Express” reports, Queen Elizabeth II is said to have spent the week at Wood Farm, a five-bedroom cottage. A place that is probably particularly close to her heart: her late husband Prince Philip (1921-2021) spent most of his time there since his retirement in 2017 until his death.

On Wednesday, she was then taken in the back seat of a Range Rover to the helicopter, which flew her back to Windsor Castle. When driving, the 96-year-old looked out the window, as can be seen in the photos. The 96-year-old wore a colorful cardigan and a dark green vest for the short trip.
