“Queen Charlotte” creator reveals: Another spin-off would be conceivable about these “Bridgerton” characters

The “Bridgerton” spin-off “Queen Charlotte” is a complete success. In the first four days after release alone, the series already clocked up 148 million watched hours, making it the fourth-best opening week of any Netflix series this year.
“Queen Charlotte” celebrates great success
The second season of “Ginny & Georgia” with almost 30 million, “The Night Agent” with around 20 million and the third season of “Outer Banks” with 5 million more watched hours are ahead of the spin-off. However, with only six episodes, “Queen Charlotte” has a significantly lower number of episodes and running time than the other programs. The offshoot is therefore hot on the heels of the main series “Bridgerton”.
All the more important for “Bridgerton” fans is the question of whether there will be a sequel to the prequel that gives us further insights into the time before the Regency era. Series creator Shonda Rhimes, who has already enjoyed great success over countless seasons with “Grey’s Anatomy” and “How to Get Away with Murder”, currently sees no potential for “Queen Charlotte” to continue, since the story is “closed” and “told”. may be. However, she is not ruling anything out at the moment.
Idea for another spin-off: “There’s a story to tell here”
But she sees plenty of new series potential, especially with other characters in the “Bridgerton” world – possibly in the form of another prequel. She already has a specific figure in mind, as she revealed in an interview with “Entertainment Weekly”. She says: “I didn’t necessarily think of it as a ‘Bridgerton’ spin-off when I started telling the story, simply because Queen Charlotte is so unique.” Nevertheless, she included the stories of Lady Danbury and young Violet, as the latter was “fascinating”. She is convinced: “There is a story here that can be told.”

So a series focusing on Violet Bridgerton is definitely conceivable. “I’m also obsessed with Violet. She’s a very interesting character and has many facets to her life that we don’t fully understand yet. It’s also another complicated love story,” says Rhimes.
Childhood, family and romantic relationships
Viewers already know the character as Daphne’s mother in “Bridgerton,” played by “Utopia” star Ruth Gemmell. Here viewers learned more about the marriage of the mother of eight, which was probably based on true love and ended tragically in the wake of the sudden death of her husband Edmund. In “Queen Charlotte” they then got to know the young Violet Ledger from a new side and learned more about her childhood, the relationship with her parents and her connection to Lady Agatha. And it is precisely these points that offer plenty of potential for another spin-off.
