After going through some eddies, The Breakers have finally found a home base. The Catalan festival, which had planned to put its barnum in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), had been summoned by Indochine, then Louise Attaque, on the poster for the event, to find another place. No question, for the two formations, of performing in a commune led by Louis Aliot (RN). Otherwise, they would have purely and simply canceled their concerts, they had informed the organizers.
The festival team had to hastily resolve to look for a new setting. “Without artists, no festival. We are forced to give up this establishment, ”lamented the organizers. After studying many proposals, they finally dropped anchor in the gardens of Lydia, in Barcarès (Pyrénées-Orientales), the famous decommissioned liner, which has become the emblem of the town.
“A sized and adapted place”
The place, located on the shores of the Mediterranean, “respects the security standards and the technical conditions of the artists, has large parking areas, a shady campsite nearby, satisfactory accommodation offers, as well as a dimensioned and adapted to welcome the public and the greatest artists of our beautiful program”, rejoices the festival team. For now, let’s learn to 20 minutesthis change of location will not affect the festival gauge: 30,000 festival-goers are expected.
This is not the first big musical event to take place at Lydia. Electrobeach, one of the biggest outdoor electro festivals in Europe, hosted David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Martin Solveig here. Les Déferlantes will take place from July 6th to 9th. Sting, Soprano, David Guetta, and Big Flo & Oli are expected. And Indochine and Louise Attaque, of course.
