The “national tribute ceremony” will take place this Thursday, at the national police school in Roubaix. The day after the tragedy, on Monday, the prefect of Hauts-de-France, Georges-François Leclerc, signed three prefectural decrees “granting posthumous reward for an act of courage” to the peacekeepers killed in the accident during of a “rescue operation for a minor victim”. Thus, Paul Medeiros, Manon Raux and Steven Grebalc will receive the “gold medal for act of courage and dedication”.
