From 2022, psychologists will be reimbursed by Social Security on medical prescription from the age of 3, up to 40 euros for the first and 30 euros for the following ones, Emmanuel Macron announced on Tuesday at the close of Conference on mental health and psychiatry in Paris.
The reimbursement of consultations, currently being tested in four departments, was claimed by the profession, while “the pandemic has revealed the importance of the subject of mental health,” said the Head of State.
800 jobs in medico-psychological centers
Emmanuel Macron also announced the creation of 800 positions in medico-psychological centers (CMP) “from next year” to “reduce waiting times as much as possible”.
“In the territories which are the most in tension”, these waiting times are currently “higher than 18 months, during which obviously the health of the suffering people deteriorates”, noted the Head of State.
