PSG apparently does not want to extend the contract with Angel Di Maria – is Lucas Paqueta coming?

The signs at Angel Di Maria and Paris Saint-Germain are set to separate in the summer. PSG have already chosen a replacement.
At Paris Saint-Germain, the end of the Angel Di Maria era is in sight. Like the French sports newspaper L’Equipe reported, PSG is no longer planning to extend the contract with the 34-year-old, which is due to expire in the summer. Instead, the top French club is considering signing Brazilian Lucas Paqueta. The 24-year-old is under contract with Olympique Lyon and has been involved in 12 goals in 29 competitive games this season.
Paqueta is reportedly targeting a summer transfer. The reason for this is also the change of his compatriot Bruno Guimaraes, who left Lyon for Newcastle in January. Paqueta switched from AC Milan to OL in autumn 2020.
Di Maria: Return to Argentina?
Di Maria’s future would be completely open with a PSG departure. But then there would be a lot to be said for a return to Argentina. He had repeatedly spoken of wanting to end his career in his home country. After the signing of his compatriot Lionel Messi, Di Maria threatened to slip down the internal rankings in the French star ensemble. However, he was able to hold his place in the current season, especially in the big games.
In addition to Di Maria, the future of other players from the Ü30 group should also be unclear. These include goalkeeper Keylor Navas (35), Idrissa Gueye (32) and Sergio Ramos (35).
