Prison required against the activists of Génération Identitaire after the intrusion into SOS Méditerranée

Sentences of up to one year in prison were requested on Monday against the 22 members of the “commando” of young far-right activists who had violently invaded the premises of the sea rescue association SOS Méditerranée in 2018 in Marseilles.

Eleven of the participants in this “punch” action must be sentenced to firm imprisonment, between four months and a year, estimated the prosecutor Ahmed Chafaï, insisting on the attitude of “contempt” towards the justice of the defendants, none having expressed no regret at the hearing. Several violated their judicial control, after their referral to the Marseille Criminal Court.
