Daughter of Harry and Meghan
Princess Lilibet turns 2: Her parents have revealed these details about her so far
Princess Lilibet celebrates her second birthday on June 4th. In these two years, the little princess was already in a skunk costume and emulated her big brother. Prince Harry and Meghan shared a few details.
Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4, 2021 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. Her name honors the late Queen Elizabeth II, whose nickname was Lilibet, and Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana. The little princess is seventh in line to the British throne. Her godfather is the American film director Tyler Perry.
Last year, on her first birthday, the Sussex family was in England to celebrate her platinum jubilee with Queen Elizabeth II, who was still alive at the time. There was a little party in the backyard of Frogmore Cottage. With the public they shared the cute portrait picture, on which the red hair of their father can be seen. Prince Harry said she also inherited the blue eyes from his mother’s family side.
So far no current photo of Harry and Meghan’s daughter has been published
No new picture of the two-year-old has been posted this year and the royal family itself has so far held back with public congratulations, as is usual with many other family members. This distance could be due to the Sussexes’ ailing relationship with the royal family.
But although Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan live a little more reclusively in Montecito, California, they revealed a few details about Princess Lilibet over the past two years. Her father said in Christmas 2021: “Archie made us a ‘Mom’ and a ‘Dad’, and Lili made us family.”
“She’s more amazing than we could have ever imagined,” said her parents of the little girl, whose character they describe as “balanced, laid-back and pretty chilled.” Prince Harry revealed this just a few weeks after her birth at the WellChild Awards in June 2021. Although the little one can now walk, she doesn’t mind watching her lively brother Archie frolic.
Princess Lilibet stroked the Queen’s shins
In Prince Harry’s memoirs, he describes a funny situation in which the little girl visited her great-grandmother, the Queen, for the last time before she passed away. “Archie made deep, gallant bows, his little sister Lilibet stroked the monarch’s shins. Sweet children,” said Granny, sounding amused .”
On Lili’s first Halloween, when she was six months old, her parents put her in a skunk costume. Duchess Meghan revealed this in November 2021 on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. On the show, the Duchess also said that her daughter is a good sleeper.
In her podcast “Archetypes”, which has apparently been paused for half a year, Meghan said what she wishes for the future and her daughter’s adulthood: “I wish that my Lili would be educated and smart”. In the audio format, the Duchess also mentioned that her two children love to eat vegetables. The little one and her brother love animals like their parents and grow up with dogs and chickens in Montecito.
In March 2023 Lilibet was baptized in America, the celebration took place in a small, private circle. When Lilibet is old enough, her mother wants to inherit a Cartier watch that has a very special meaning for her. She herself has earned it through acting, telling Hello Magazine: “I had something engraved on the back: ‘By MM for MM’ and I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That’s, what makes jewelry special, the connection you have to it.”
