Princess Leonor and her younger sister Princess Sofía visited the Dalí Theater Museum in the Spanish province of Girona on Sunday.

The two daughters of Queen Letizia (49) and King Felipe VI. (54) from Spain – Leonor (16) and Sofía (15) – caused enthusiasm with their summer outfits during a joint visit to the Dalí Theater Museum in Figueres in Catalonia.

The sisters were given a tour of the museum following a session in preparation for the Princess of Girona Foundation Awards ceremony, taking place in Barcelona on Monday. This was announced by the royal family in a statement.

Princess Leonor wore a dress by Mango

Princess Leonor wore a red and white patterned, midi-length dress with puff sleeves from the Spanish fashion chain Mango. She tied it at the waist with a belt of the same color. In addition, the 16-year-old combined classic lace-up espadrilles in white. The heir to the throne wore her hair loose and only gathered the front parts behind her head.

Her sister, Princess Sofía, who is a year younger, opted for a slightly shorter dress by Claudie Pierlot. The creamy-white dress featured intricate black stitching and embroidery. The ruffled skirt was slightly gathered from the thigh. Just like her sister, the princess wore espadrilles, albeit with black fabric. She had braided her front hair into mini pigtails.

First visit of the heir to the throne in Girona

For Princess Leonor it was apparently the first visit to the province of Girona. Since the coronation of King Felipe, the 16-year-old has also held the title of Princess of Girona. On Monday, the heir to the throne will attend the awards ceremony in Barcelona with her parents and sister.

In February it was announced that the 16-year-old would attend a boarding school in Wales in the summer in order to obtain an internationally recognized high school diploma.
