Will Charlène have to stay in the clinic for the upcoming family celebrations? Albert and the twins celebrated them with a sweet gesture.
Princess Charlène von Monaco (43) is currently in a clinic. Three weeks before the seventh birthday of your children (December 14th) and four weeks before Christmas, the question arises whether your family has to celebrate without her? Until that is clarified, the husband Prince Albert II (63) and their twins, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella (both 6), have to get along without them for the time being.
On Wednesday (November 24th) the three honored their family member once more with a touching gesture. As part of a tree campaign that took place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the women’s rights organization Soroptimist International, the small royal family and their classmates planted a purple flowering jacaranda tree from their home country South Africa on the terraces of the Monaco casino. This is reported, among other things, by the daily newspaper “Monaco Matin”.

Princess Charlène left the principality just a few days after her return from South Africa in order to be able to recover from a serious infectious disease. As Prince Albert II confirmed to People magazine in mid-November, his wife is in a clinic. They made this decision together. She suffers from exhaustion, both emotionally and physically, the prince said. Recovery would require at least several weeks of clinical care. After her return from South Africa, the first few hours went well, then it became obvious that she was not doing well.
Albert once again rejected the rumors about alleged relationship problems that kept sprouting up. There is no marriage crisis. The condition of his wife is the result of “several factors that are a private matter”. Charlène is overwhelmed and currently cannot face official duties, life in general or family life.
Princess Charlène still needs rest
Albert II had already confirmed before the celebrations for the Monegasque national holiday that his wife would not take part. You still need rest, he said in an interview with the newspaper “Monaco Matin”. In an official press release, the palace announced that Charlène had left the principality and was in a place that should remain confidential. As soon as she felt better, she would resume her “princely duties” and “spend time with the Monegasque”.
Nevertheless, her two children insisted on sending a message of greeting to their mother during a holiday parade in the castle courtyard. On the palace balcony they held up self-drawn posters saying “We love you, Mommy” and “We miss you, Mommy”. was to be read. Her father was also seen on the gallery and waved to his people together with his children.
The princess had only returned to Monaco at the beginning of November after a stay of several months in South Africa. A visit to her native land of just a few days was actually planned. After a severe ear, nose and throat infection, the doctors forbade her to travel by plane, which is why she had to cure herself on site and could not return to her family.
Albert and Charlene met in 2000
Prince Albert and the then South African swimmer Charlène Wittstock met in 2000 and have been married since 2011. The twins were born in December. Albert also has a illegitimate daughter and an illegitimate son who are excluded from the line of succession.
