Princess Anne celebrates her 74th birthday this Thursday. The royal family congratulated her with special souvenir photos.

Princess Anne (74) can look forward to a special day today. The sister of King Charles III (75) celebrates her 74th birthday on August 15th. An Instagram story was dedicated to her on the Royal Family’s Instagram account. “We wish the Princess a very happy birthday today,” it says on a photo collage showing Princess Anne together with her brother.

Childhood photo with King Charles

An old black and white childhood photo shows Princess Anne with her older brother King Charles. It is said to be from 1954 and was taken near the Royal Lodge. The siblings are sitting on a lawn and smiling at the camera. In another photo, the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) and Prince Philip (1921-2021) can be seen alone, while a third photo shows her again with Charles. The duo is wearing uniform.

Princess Anne, who is considered the hardest-working member of the Royal Family, has had a period of health problems. She was released from hospital at the end of June after being treated for a minor head injury and concussion at Southmead Hospital in Bristol for five days. The Princess is said to have then returned to her country estate, Gatcombe Park, near Minchinhampton. She is said to have sustained the minor injury on her estate in Gloucestershire. She was probably injured by a horse, British media reported.

From mid-July she started attending appointments again and visited the Olympic Games in Paris, among other things. Princess Anne has a special relationship with the Olympics. She was the first member of the British Royal Family to take part in the Olympic Games. She competed in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal and came ninth in the eventing team. Anne has been a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 1988.

Princess Anne is the mother of Zara Tindall (43) and Peter Phillips (46). Both are from the marriage with Mark Phillips (75), which lasted from 1973 to 1992. Timothy Laurence (69), a naval officer, married Anne at the end of 1992.
