Prince William (42) visited RAF Northolt air base with David Beckham (49) to inspect two new rescue helicopters from London’s Air Ambulance Charity. The Palace shares several pictures on Instagram and a video clipwhich show the prince and the former professional footballer, among other things, in the cockpit of one of the helicopters and together with helpers from the charity.

Beckham speaks of millions of lives saved

“Thanks to an incredible fundraising campaign that raised £16 million to purchase two new H135 helicopters, LAA medical teams can continue to reach patients when every second counts,” the palace said. Ex-footballer Beckham is very proud to have been invited by William to become a part of it all, he says in the video. The pilots and paramedics do “incredible work” and have saved “millions of lives” over the years.

As the London’s Air Ambulance Charity announcedthe son of King Charles III. (75) also met pilots, members of the medical team and two former patients on site to talk to them. The helpers reported on the “important role that our helicopters play in providing life-saving care to seriously injured people in London”. Royal patron William was a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance for around two years between 2015 and 2017. He was therefore probably able to talk a little shop with the pilots during the visit.
