Prince Harry’s autobiography breaks records. “Reserve” is already setting a few records in the UK.

According to media reports, Prince Harry’s (38) autobiography “Reserve” (original title: “Spare”) sold almost half a million copies in the first week in Great Britain. This makes the book the fastest-selling non-fiction book since records began.

“Reserve” reportedly sold a total of 467,183 print copies in its first week of release, as “Daily Mail” reports, citing “Nielsen BookData”.. This does not include e-book sales or audio book copies. The book topped the UK Book Charts.

Publisher Penguin Random House UK explained “Forbes” according to, the book sold 750,000 copies in its first week in the UK across all formats – hardcover, e-book and audiobook. According to the publisher, “Guinness World Records” has confirmed that Prince Harry’s autobiography was the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time on the first day of its publication. As the publisher further explained, it is now also “the best-selling memoir of all time in its first week of publication”.

According to Penguin Random House, “Spare” sold a total of 1.4 million English-language copies across all formats in the US, UK and Canada on the day of release.

The book, for which the royal also gave some TV interviews, was released in bookstores on January 10th. It had already caused a stir because it had been on the market in Spain too early. Prince Harry attacks members of the royal family, in particular his brother, the British heir to the throne Prince William (40). Among other things, he accuses him of becoming violent in a dispute in 2019. The palace has so far been silent on all allegations by Harry, who lives in California with his wife, Duchess Meghan (41), and their children Archie (3) and Lilibet.
