Prince Charles has apparently seen the Netflix series “The Crown”. A politician has now given an insight into how the heir to the throne feels about the series.
Royal statements about the popular Netflix series “The Crown” are rare to non-existent. Now Prince Charles (73) made an exception, albeit in a roundabout way: As reported by the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, Scottish politician Anas Sarwar (39) chatted about an encounter with the heir to the throne of Queen Elizabeth II (96). Last year, Charles introduced himself to MPs by saying, “Hello. Nice to meet you all. I’m not nearly what you portray me on Netflix.”
For Sarwar, a “really interesting way of describing yourself”. Prince Charles was portrayed as a young adult by actor Josh O’Connor (32) in seasons three and four. O’Connor even received an Emmy in 2021 for his performance. In the last two seasons of “The Crown” Dominic West (52) will embody an older version of the Prince of Wales.

In principle, there are no official statements about “The Crown” from the front row of the British Royals. Only Prince Harry (32) spoke openly about it. In an interview with James Corden (43), Prince Charles’ son said that he would rather watch the series than read what was written about his family. “The Crown” gives a “rough idea of this lifestyle” and the pressure that prevails in the royal family.
In an interview, “The Crown” actress Vanessa Kirby (34) revealed a few years ago that Princess Eugenie (32), the Queen’s granddaughter, told her that the Queen was watching “The Crown”. It has also become known through insiders that the royal family probably disliked the mixture of fact and fiction and that their displeasure had even been expressed towards the producers.
