Prince Andrew has returned his military titles and royal patronage. Prince Charles does not want to comment on this.

The British royal family has stripped Prince Andrew (61) of his military titles. However, his older brother, Prince Charles (73), apparently wants to leave this uncommented. During a visit to Aberdeenshire, Scotland, the royal at least ignored a corresponding question about his brother, as a recording of “Sky News” shows.

On January 13th Buckingham Palace had announcedthat Prince Andrew’s “military affiliations and royal patronages […] returned to the Queen”. In addition, he will continue to take on no public duties and will defend himself as a “private citizen” in the Virginia Giuffre (38) case.

Protect “The Survival of the Institution”.

the British “Daily Mail” later reported, citing palace insidersthat above all Prince Charles and his son, Prince William (39), are said to have been the driving forces behind the decision. “It’s about the survival of the institution at all costs,” the anonymous source explained. “It’s always been like that and it always will be like that.” The decision was taken to protect the royal family from “flying shrapnel”.

Giuffre accuses Prince Andrew of sexually abusing her when she was a minor. He categorically denies the allegations. A court in the United States recently decided not to dismiss a lawsuit brought by the 38-year-old. The civil trial is expected to take place in the fall if an out-of-court settlement is not reached before then.
