The Royals have released their annual Christmas cards. Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla choose an unusual motif. William and Kate rely on the family bond.

Royal fans eagerly await the release of the Christmas cards every year. Because they give a little insight into the private lives of Prince Charles, Prince William, Harry and Co.

British Royals Christmas Cards

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla have shown a bit of humor this year. Her Christmas card is decorated with a photo of the couple at the Royal Ascot tournament in spring. The heir to the throne is wearing a dark-colored mask and is putting her light-colored mouth and nose protection on his wife. It’s a brief, personal moment. A moment that must have passed the public by. And it’s authentic because it couldn’t fit better into the second year of the pandemic.

The motif that Prince William and Duchess Catherine chose for their family card goes in a completely different direction. It shows the couple together with their children George, Charlotte and Louis during their stay in Jordan. The royals laugh happily at the camera, wearing summer clothes. A nice family photo, no question about it. And yet it seems a bit out of place. Because most of the people decided not to travel this year either.

Less travel

As recently as August, the magazine “OK” revealed to Insider that William and Catherine want to avoid long, private trips in the future. Instead, they preferred to spend their vacations at Amner Hall, Norfolk.

Royal Expert Katie Nicholl said: “While the couple have taken lavish vacations skiing or sunnier climes in the past, they have now taken a more traditional royal approach and instead spend their time in royal residences in the UK. That could of course be due to travel restrictions lying about Covid-19, but I also believe that Kate and William are transforming themselves into the future king and queen and therefore adopting more traditional practices. “

Only the future will tell whether Nicholl is correct in her assessment. In any case, the Cambridge Christmas card revealed that the family was definitely traveling abroad this year.
