Prince Andrew has turned 62 amid the recent abuse scandal. He celebrated his birthday in isolation.

A few days after the out-of-court settlement in the abuse scandal involving Prince Andrew and Virginia Roberts Giuffre (38), the disgraced royal became a year older. Queen Elizabeth II’s son (95) celebrated his 62nd birthday on Saturday (February 19) lonely than ever – it apparently marks the start of his permanent isolation. As reported by The Telegraph newspaperAndrew spent his birthday almost alone at his home, the Royal Lodge, about three miles from Windsor Castle.

It is his first birthday, after it was announced that the bells of Westminster Abbey would no longer be rung in his honor and that flags would no longer be flown on official buildings in honor of the royal. A birthday party had already been canceled in 2021 due to the corona pandemic. In 2020, however, the Duke of York was still able to celebrate, despite the fact that he had just given the BBC his scandalous “Newsnight” interview about his friendship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019).

Who else celebrates with Prince Andrew?

According to The Telegraph, his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, is not expected to visit Prince Andrew despite the close proximity of his home to Windsor Castle. However, the monarch has just tested positive for the corona virus and has mild symptoms. Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (62), with whom he is said to live in a kind of shared apartment despite the divorce at the Royal Lodge, is said to have kept him company on his birthday. It is not clear whether Princess Beatrice (33) and Princess Eugenie (31) visited their father. There is no sign of congratulations to Andrew on the royal family’s social media channels. However, the “Daily Mail” has picturesshowing clerks accepting gifts of flowers and greeting cards from a car outside Andrew’s home.
