Prices at Vinci tolls frozen for journeys of less than 50 kilometers

While toll prices will increase by an average of 2% in 2022, Vinci Autoroutes intends to make a small gesture “to preserve the purchasing power of motorists”. The giant thus promised on Monday that “the toll rates for the vast majority of short-distance journeys will not increase on the Vinci Autoroutes network in 2022”.

This exception will apply to four-fifths of journeys of less than 30 km, two-thirds of journeys of less than 50 km as well as routes bypassing 34 agglomerations, said in a press release the first group of motorway concessions in France. , whose network includes Autoroutes du Sud de la France (ASF), Cofiroute and Escota.

All other routes increase

On average, Vinci Autoroutes toll rates will still increase in 2022 by 2.0% (by 2.19% for ASF, 1.90% for Cofiroute and 2.05% for Escota), within the average of increases coming into force on Tuesday on almost all French concession motorways. Motorway tolls increase every year according to a calculation taking into account the rate of inflation and the work undertaken by the concession companies.

“We made sure to apply the contracts (binding the companies to the State), which means that we have an average increase of 2%. We have worked to ensure that (…) as many motorists as possible benefit from routes that do not increase, ”said a spokesperson. He refused to conclude that the tolls would increase more on long routes, to compensate for the freeze on daily journeys. “It’s case by case,” he insisted.
