Premier League – Manchester United easily wins in Brentford (1-3)

In lack of convincing results in recent weeks, Manchester United has again played to scare itself on the lawn of Brentford. First worrying against the promoted who fell on an impassable David de Gea before the break, the Red Devils then showed implacable realism to win with a very flattering score (1-3). They relied on goals from Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford, all three trained at the club, to make up some of their delay in the top 4. Still seventh, Manchester United thus returns to two lengths from West Ham , with one match less.

It was a two-faced Manchester United who visited Brentford, who remained on three wins from four Premier League home games. The interesting Bees almost confirmed their good predispositions at home, during a first period during which they showed good use of the ball against the Red Devils out of it. Unfortunately for them, David de Gea was having a great night, and he disgusted Mathias Jensen twice (13th, 32nd). Manchester can really say thank you to their goalkeeper, as the club could have plunged without him.

Maximum efficiency in the second period for Manchester

Long beaten in envy, Ralf Rangnick’s men returned from the locker room with a much more conquering state of mind, materialized by the bar very quickly found by Cristiano Ronaldo (47th). A few minutes later, the improvement was confirmed thanks to Anthony Elanga, author of a perfect sequence in the surface on a beautiful opening from Fred (0-1, 55th).

The break was made in stride, thanks to a sublime deviation from the chest of Ronaldo for Bruno Fernandes, decisive passer for Mason Greenwood (0-2, 62nd). Marcus Rashford, substitute at kick-off, added his name to the scoreboard, on a new offering from Fernandes (0-3, 77th).

“Hazard is not a mercenary, he might surprise us with his future destination”

If Manchester United was able to put their heads back in this match, two shadows will tarnish the table, starting with the reduction of the avoidable score signed by Ivan Toney, on a long touch very, very badly managed by the defense (1 -3, 85th). The second is internal: Cristiano Ronaldo did not really appreciate his replacement by Henry Maguire in the 73rd minute. So much so that Rangnick had to console him while Rashford scored, preventing the coach from bursting with joy…

The frustration of the Portuguese will a priori be quickly forgotten in favor of the result. Because after two unsuccessful league matches, the Red Devils pocket three points which are good.
