Liverpool FC defended their lead in the English Premier League with a draw at newly promoted Brentford FC. In the fast-paced and extremely entertaining game on Saturday, the team of coach Jürgen Klopp only managed to score 3: 3 (1: 1) in the end, despite two leading positions, which the strong hosts really deserved.
Diogo Jota (31st minute), Mohamed Salah (54th) with his 100th goal for the Reds and Curtis Jones (67th) scored in the new community stadium in West London for the Klopp-Elf. First Brentford took the lead through Ethan Pinnock (27th). After Jota and Salah had turned the game, the German U21 international Vitaly Janelt (63.) scored the equalizer for the Bees. Liverpool were one point ahead of rivals Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United after six Premier League games on Saturday evening.
Manchester United had previously lost 1-0 (0-0) at Aston Villa and missed the leap to first place. Against the team from Birmingham it set a 0-1 (0-0) at the Old Trafford stadium with a late goal from Kortney home (88th minute). Bad luck for Manchester United: Bruno Fernandes (90 + 3) missed a penalty in stoppage time. Chelsea lost 1-0 to Manchester City in the top game at home. Gabriel Jesus scored the goal (53rd).

The Maldini tradition continues at the traditional Italian club AC Milan: 19-year-old Daniel Maldini scored the 1-0 in the 48th minute in the 2-1 (1-0) of the Rossoneri at Spezia Calcio on the sixth game day of the Serie A.

The teenager followed in the footsteps of his father Paolo (53) and his grandfather Cesare, both Milan club icons. Cesare Maldini died in 2016 at the age of 84. Paolo Maldini, who last ran for Milan twelve years ago, is the Lombards’ club director. Grandpa Cesare Maldini won four championships with Milan and the 1963 European Cup. Daniel Maldini started in Milan for the first time in Serie A, previously he had mostly only made short appearances.
In the evening Atalanta Bergamo fought with national player Robin Gosens in the starting eleven a 2: 2 (2: 1) at champions Inter Milan. Ruslan Malinovsky (30th) and Rafael Toloi (39th) were successful for Atalanta. Lautaro Martinez (5th) had put Inter in the lead, ex-Bundesliga professional Edin Dzeko (71st) secured one point for the defending champion. Federico Dimarco (86th) missed a hand penalty for Inter.
