A private pond in Upper Franconia has been fished almost completely empty by unknown thieves. So far, however, it is not clear whether the thieves were people with nets or otters, the police said on Tuesday. The animals are said to have been responsible for missing fish in the region in recent times.
Over the past week, 200 albino catfish and 40 transmontanus sturgeon have disappeared from the pond near Ludwigschorgast (Kulmbach district). The police initially assume theft to investigate in all directions, said a spokesman.
