Polar Express Ranch: Luxury idyll by children’s book author is being sold

Log cabin romance in the Rocky Mountains, but in the absolute luxury version, is what the former ranch owned by children’s book author Chris Van Allsburg offers. In the 80s he wrote his world success “Der Polarexpress” here, reports the brokerage firm Engel & Völkers, which is selling the property for 17.5 million dollars (15 million euros). Van Allsburg’s Polar Express, like his work Jumanji, was later filmed by Hollywood, with Tom Hanks playing the lead role.

The ranch was built in 1975 and luxuriously remodeled in 2010. It offers 700 square meters of living space as well as a pond, a stream and a jacuzzi. The 2.71 acre property is located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Van Allsburg now lives with his family in Providence, Rhode Island, on the US east coast.
