The cemetery in the Warsaw district of Wola, west of the city center, is no ordinary cemetery. Trams do stop in front of it and people walk in the large park next to it, on their lunch break or with their strollers. But right at the entrance to the cemetery and park stands this long, flat building under tall trees. It bears the simple name of the Memorial Chamber. A memorial to almost 200,000 people who died, were murdered, died under rubble and from battle injuries during the Warsaw Uprising against the German occupiers 80 years ago.
