Pokémon Go: Crypto Raids in Pokémon Go

In Pokémon Go, trainers deal with catching, collecting and training Pokémon. Team GO Rocket keeps getting in our way. The members have been using the powers of Crypto Pokémon for a long time and now want to use them against us in Crypto Raids. Time to show Team GO Rocket what’s up! We explain to you what the crypto raids in Pokémon Go are all about.

Crypto Raids in Pokémon Go

Team GO Rocket will take over Gyms with Shadow Pokémon during the Shadows Rising event. For the first time in Crypto Raids you can encounter powerful raid bosses and catch new Pokémon – if you are able to defeat the raid boss. Team up with friends for the Crypto Raids to ensure victory will be yours.

Team GO Rocket will take over some arenas during the event, but they will not be able to take over every arena. Normal raid battles will still take place there. Attention: You can only participate in Crypto Raids with a Raid Pass or Premium Battle Pass. Joining with a Remote Raid Pass is not possible.

A shady power

What was furyo mode in Pokémon Colosseum and contra mode in Pokémon XD, frenzy is in Pokémon Go. In Crypto Raids, strong raid bosses are used by Team GO Rocket who are not in control of their powers. Tier 3 and Tier 5 Crypto Raid bosses will frenzy if you fight them. This dangerous state increases the Shadow Pokémon’s Attack and Defense stats. You must hold the fort and weaken the raid bosses to calm them down. Previously, status changes were only available in trainer battles! Status changes in raids come into play for the first time with Crypto Raids!

The Power of Redemption

In Pokémon Go, once the Rising Shadows event starts, you can find an item called Crypto Shards. Team GO Rocket Grunts drop Crypto Shards when you defeat them. Professor Willow has invented a shard melter and with this machine you are able to assemble the mysterious fragments into “Redeemed Gems”.
