Paul Pogba’s body has been giving him a real nightmare for almost a year. Hit in the knee during summer preparation, he had surgery in September 2022, missing the World Cup in Qatar at the same time. The Frenchman was only able to return to competition in February, before suffering another injury in March, this time to the adductor. Paul Pogba had waited 390 days, or thirteen months, before tasting a tenure again this evening, but his body gave him no respite, and the Frenchman may have to start all over again…
A “surprise” tenure … for Pogba himself
The day before, Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri felt that it was still premature to imagine Paul Pogba playing a full match. “He is progressing physically, but he needs games to get back in shape, he knows that, we have often talked about it. For now, the important thing is that he is available for a while, half an hour. Playing every three days, it is difficult for him to recover for an entire match”, explained the bianconero coach.
The sequence of events unfortunately proved him right, Pogba not even having been able to take advantage of the first period.
