youth researches is no longer a nerd competition with dubious inventions. Best example: Aruna Sherma. At the age of 16, she developed a medical contrast agent and took second place. Even though she suffers from dyslexia.

At the school competition youth researches what many people think of is bubbling model volcanoes, jetpacks powered by Mentos-Cola, lanky boys in flood pants and wire-rimmed glasses. But the competition of young researchers has had nothing to do with this image for a long time. Best example: Aruna Sherma. She is 20 years old, now a physics student, and as part of the youth researches-competition last year invented a “non-toxic contrast medium based on nanoparticles” and won second prize with it.

Researcher at the age of 16

She began researching this when she was 16 years old. The unbelievable: Aruna suffers from dyslexia. And that was not recognized by her teachers for a long time. In episode 245 of “today important” she says: “Because I have parents who are not from Germany, one thought that it was because of that.” A prejudice that can have sad consequences. But Aruna carried on, from the fourth grade she received therapy and today she says that some experiences have even helped her: “Because of the bad grades in elementary school I had a tolerance for failures.”

Mexican President rents out his private jet

If you’ve ever wanted to fly in a private jet or throw a party in it, maybe even get married in it, there’s an opportunity for you. The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, also known as: AMLO, rents out his private jet, including a king-size bed and a treadmill. Because he doesn’t want this plane at all. AMLO inherited the aircraft from its pre-predecessor. Purchase price at the time: $200 million. During the election campaign, the head of state advertised not to set foot in the luxury machine, his style: modesty. Obrador initially tried to sell the plane, without success. Then he organized a lottery, but the tickets sold slowly and later the winners were also threatened by drug gangs. Then AMLO came up with a new idea: rent it out. And so, since this week, everyone can celebrate their birthday, a Christmas party or a wedding in the Mexican President’s luxury jet.
