Planegg – town hall cancels municipal council meeting – district of Munich

With parts of the Planegger town hall administration and the local council as well as with mayor Hermann Nafziger (CSU) the nerves are apparently blank after turbulent weeks in the local council. There is hardly any other explanation why the municipal administration cancels all public committee meetings until the end of the year and city hall managing director Stefan Schaudig in a letter to the municipal councils that the Süddeutsche Zeitung is available, reacted extremely thin-skinned to the public criticism of the past few days about the decision of the municipal council to expand the Steinkirchen industrial park.

“Due to the current development in the press, the allegations against the administration and the tone of voice among each other, based on the last municipal council meeting on December 6th, we have decided not to hold any further public committee meetings this year,” Schaudig wrote last year Friday to the “dear ladies and gentlemen of the municipal council”. And further: “We still want to find a conciliatory conclusion to this certainly extraordinary year 2021 and have decided to only invite to a non-public meeting / get-together on December 23rd.”

Mayor Nafziger declined when he was called back. There could be no question of being offended by the public criticism in the town hall. He and the municipal administration are only concerned with “bringing a little more calm into the debate”. In any case, there is nothing left to decide at the last meeting of the year, after the budget debate for the budget year 2022 is not supposed to take place until spring, as an exception. “I just wanted to take a look back and look ahead to what was to come, as always.” However, this will not be done publicly. For the municipal councils, however, City Hall manager Schaudig has some consolation: “Afterwards you can toast the year from the square”. Of course not in public.
