Proposals for this year’s Planegger environmental prize can be submitted until October 20th. The prize, which is awarded every year, is endowed with a total of 5000 euros. It was reactivated two years ago by the municipal councilor Peter von Schall-Riaucour (PPM), after it had been awarded a number of times around 20 years ago and then fell asleep, so to speak, due to a lack of participants. The sponsor of the prize is also von Schall. Together with a jury of mayors, local councilors and a few experts, it is decided in October which activities or projects in Planegg and Martinsried on the subject of the environment and sustainability the jury considers worthy of an award. Last year, the Feodor-Lynen-Gymnasium, the responsible teacher and her class received the lion’s share of the prize for the design of the school garden. Every citizen of Planegg can submit suggestions. Traders are excluded from the price. The application documents can be sent to the Planegg town hall by post or email.
