Peter Dinklage has landed a new job. The actor is set to star in the Hunger Games prequel.

Actor Peter Dinklage (53) became world famous as Tyrion Lannister in the acclaimed HBO series “Game of Thrones”. Now he is apparently drawn from Westeros to Panem, because the 53-year-old was committed to the “Hunger Games” prequel “The Song of the Bird and Snake”. That reports including the industry portal “Deadline”.

“We are delighted to welcome Peter Dinklage to Panem,” said Nathan Kahane, president of Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group, in a statement. Dinklage is one of the “best living actors,” it continues. He slips into the role of Casca Highbottom, the dean of the academy. “He will bring impressive, charismatic authority to the important role of dean of the academy,” believes Kahane.

In addition to Dinklage, other cast members are already known. Rachel Zegler (21) takes on the leading role of Lucy Gray. The young version of Coriolanus Snow is embodied by Tom Blyth (27). Also present are Hunter Schafer (23) as his cousin Tigris Snow and Josh Andrés Rivera (27) as Sejanus Plinth. Jason Schwartzman (42) will embody the character Lucretius “Lucky” Flickerman, the host of the “Hunger Games”.

A Song of Birds and Snakes is based on the 2020 book of the same name by Suzanne Collins (59), set decades before the exploits of Katniss Everdeen in Hunger Games. Francis Lawrence (51) will once again direct the film. He had already taken on all three sequels to the first part, which was released in 2012. The Hunger Games prequel is slated for a 2023 release.
