Party in Ischgl: Get even higher with the song “Higher” – travel

The list of anthems for beautiful travel destinations is by no means one that begins with Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” and ends with Freddie Mercury’s “Barcelona”; Destination advertising by musicians of all stripes has a certain tradition, especially in German-speaking countries. The German band The doctors for example wanted to go back to the North Sea and sang about “Westerland”; Herbert Grönemeyer created a musical monument for Bochum and for the band Wanda Surprisingly, Vienna was not her hometown, but “Bologna, my city”. Until recently, the Ballermann bard Ikke Hipgold even directed his entire artistic existence towards singing about Mallorca and the long-term intellectual consequences of drinking tourism there (ole, ole, ole, big tits, potato salad), which is reflected in the excitement about his “Layla” however, went down a bit. Just a few days ago, in an interview with the online edition of the Mallorca newspaper however, to read the amazing hip gold sentence: “I have finished with Mallorca.”

In this tradition, it is therefore completely understandable that Ischgl recently produced a song solely to provide musical accompaniment to the “Spring Blanc” event series in Ischgl. Only those arrested forever in the Corona crisis mode and constant nags recognize in the song title “Higher” a bitter reminiscence of the number of infections, according to a press release “spring feelings on the slopes are to be transported even more strongly with musical vibes”. Otherwise, the concept is extremely coherent. For example, the simple rhythms and the manageable complexity of the text are aimed less at philosophy students or music fans who have been socialized with Sinatra. Which follows a certain logic, because they don’t dare to go to Ischgl anyway.

The mostly dancing people are correspondingly colorful and in a good mood in the video, plus mountains and slopes. “Higher” was also created by Munich-based Marvin Aloys, after all the grandson of Ischgl hotelier Günther Aloys, who in turn always saw the mountain as a profit machine and advanced to become a visionary with this attitude. In any case, the DJ and self-proclaimed house artist Marvin Aloys not only has beautiful hair, but also more Ischgl in his veins than Die Ärzte and Grönemeyer put together, although the song “Bochum” (“You’re an honest skin, unfortunately completely blocked… .And constantly on coke”) seems like an early homage to the alpine town.

However, before you start looking around for composers for “Flatter” and “Blacker” between Schleswig-Holstein and the Black Forest, let us briefly remind you of the crucial question of which commission you hire the producers for or whether you leave the whole thing to the whim of the artists. Jan Böhmermann, for example, dedicated a song to Ischgl two years ago, without being asked and of his own free will, with simple rhythms, many mountains in the picture and manageable complexity, i.e. a very coherent concept.

They only found the text in Ischgl – according to reports – not so cool after all: “Ischgl fever again and again! Black slope to the hospital! Husti Husti Heh.” Then maybe Ikke Hipgold?
