The renovation is contemporary, everything else is somehow retro: in Vienna, the reopening of the modernized parliament was celebrated with a big, cheerful, very Austrian ceremony.

As we know at least since the TV series with Kiefer Sutherland, there should always be a “Designated Survivor“ who stays in a safe place while the country’s elite celebrates or makes historic decisions. If a catastrophe occurs, someone has to take responsibility afterwards.
