US alternative rock band Panic! At The Disco disbands after around 20 years. Frontman Brendon Urie becomes a father for the first time.

Panic! At The Disco will disband. That’s what the lead singer of the US band, Brendon Urie (35), in a lengthy Instagram statement communicated to the fans. “Growing up in Vegas, I never could have imagined where this life would take me,” he began his message. “All the many places around the world and all the friends we’ve made along the way.”

But sometimes a journey has to end so that a new one can begin, explains the singer. “We tried to keep it to ourselves, although some of you may have heard about it. Sarah and I are expecting a baby very soon!” the musician also proclaims. “The prospect of becoming a father and seeing my wife become a mother is […] very exciting. I look forward to this next adventure.” This means that he “will finish this chapter of my life and put my focus and energy on my family. That’ll make it panic! At The Disco no longer give.”

He would like to thank you for the great support over the years, writes Brendon Urie. “I’ve sat here trying to find the perfect way to say this and I really can’t put into words how much it meant to us.” It was a pleasure for the band “to share not only the stage with so many talented people but also our time with you. I look forward to seeing everyone in Europe and the UK on one last journey together.”
