The Kempten Jazz Spring has long been able to compete with all other Bavarian jazz festivals, with more than 45 concerts this year in purely numerical terms. But the big event has also scored points with its program selection for years. Whereby the focus – which is why the opening by the state youth jazz orchestra is no coincidence – this time is clearly on the increasingly numerous and rousing young local jazz musicians: from the gypsy jazz musician Gismo Graf to the Rhythm Knights LBT, from singers as diverse as Anna Emmersberger, Karoline Weidt, Stefanie Boltz, Maloom or the already sold-out Alma Naidu to electro brass bands polyradiation. There is also a good dose of blues and soul from veterans such as Christian Willisohn, Abi Wallenstein, André Schwager and San2. At the end you have to decide between classic orchestral jazz with the Frankfurt Radio Big Band and soul jazz with Stefanie Lottermoser.
