The Evangelical-Lutheran Michaelskirche in Ottobrunn mourns the loss of former pastor Martina Hirschsteiner. From September 2013 to February 2021, she was active in the parish, which also includes Neubiberg, Riemerling and Hohenbrunn, and then in the parish of St. Johannes in Munich-Haidhausen. In Ottobrunn, she took particular care of the work with the elderly and the visiting service in the community, created many special services and was involved in the work with adults. She died on December 28th and leaves behind three children. “Great is the dismay and deep sadness that Pastor Martina Hirschsteiner left us at the age of 52,” says Dean Mathis Steinbauer from the Michaelskirche.
A funeral and memorial service for the sensitive pastor will take place on Friday, January 13, from 2 p.m. in the parish of St. Johannes, Preysingplatz 1, in Haidhausen. After studying theology in Tübingen and Munich and working as a research assistant at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Martina Hirschsteiner had already completed her vicariate here before she became a pastor in the parishes of the Friedenskirche in Dachau, the Jesuskirche in Haar and the Michaelskirche in Ottobrunn.
