Ottobrunn: Info afternoon on the subject of scams – district of Munich

The neighborhood help of the Ottobrunner Arbeiterwohlfahrt invites you together with the local police station to a free information afternoon on the subject of scams. The police provide information about scams and give concrete recommendations for action – because the crimes are increasing and the methods are becoming more and more perfidious. One variant: callers who pretend to be police officers and want to take money or valuables to protect against theft. Another: So-called “shock calls” put the called party under a lot of emotional pressure. After a fake car accident, alleged relatives urgently ask for a transfer of money in order to avoid an alleged arrest. The neighborhood help would like to raise awareness of these tricks and offer preventive help with the police. The information afternoon, which according to the organizers should be of particular interest to senior citizens, will take place on Thursday, January 19, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Neighborhood Help event room. The address is Putzbrunner Strasse 52, but the entrance is on Josef-Seliger-Strasse. You can register until January 16 by calling 089/99 01 66 96 or by sending an email to [email protected].
