In canteens and canteens, guests will soon be able to identify the organic portion in the respective kitchen by a new logo. This is provided for in a draft regulation by Minister of Food Cem Özdemir (Greens). The regulations are also intended to make it easier for providers of out-of-home catering to participate in organic certification of products and ingredients. Provisions are also made for controls.
The levels are gold with 90 to 100 percent organic, silver with 50 to 89 percent and bronze with 20 to 49 percent – each based on the monetary value of the entire purchase of goods. Overall, the federal government is aiming for strong organic growth.
