Optical Illusion: Incredible illusion shows how our eye works

Watch the video: Troxler effect – incredible illusion shows how our eyes work.

Look at the cross in the middle of the screen. A magenta dot disappears clockwise.
A green dot then appears in its place. The amazing thing is that the green dot does not even exist. Let’s focus on those
Gaps, we see, the magenta dot disappears and all that’s left is a vacant space. What we see here is the so-called Troxler effect. It was discovered in 1804 by Ignaz Paul Vitalis Troxler. Simply put, areas of the retina adapt to persistent or recurring stimuli in such a way that their sensitivity decreases. This becomes clearer when the points are blurred. After some time, the magenta dots just seem to disappear.
So our eyes try to compensate for the color stimulus. At the point where the point disappears, we then perceive this compensation in the form of the complementary color – i.e. green. The Toxler effect is even more noticeable in this blurred gradient.
If you stare long enough at the cross in the middle of the screen, the color just seems to disappear. But even that is just an illusion.
