Opening of the 54th Historians’ Day – Culture

One shouldn’t be arrogant. On the other hand, where, if not at a historians’ day, do you have to take a close look at who is there and who was there earlier? In Munich, the 53rd Historians’ Day opened on Monday evening in the Great Aula of the Ludwig Maximilians University. It should actually take place in 2020, but fell victim to Corona. Because the epidemic still determines large parts of public and private life, this major event is also a largely virtual undertaking. The opening was semi-virtual: In the auditorium spoke and made music – what would serious event management in Germany be without chamber music? – people physically present; outside on the screens a few hundred were watching the stream.
