The producer and host Nagui announced last Saturday that the mechanics of his telecrochet, The Artist, was going to evolve. Of which act: for the second number which will be broadcast live this Saturday evening on France 2, only ten of the nineteen artists still in the running will be there.
They will each sing the original songs they have written and composed. “Only the first seven will remain in the history of The Artist “, Said the host and producer on Instagram. For this, they will have to convince the jury – composed of Emmanuel Virot and Elodie Mermoz, as well as, for this evening only, of the group Tryo – and the public, who will be able to vote for free through the Instagram story of the account of The Artist.

We can easily deduce that the nine others still in the race at the end of the first show will participate in the third issue in a week and will be subject to the same rules.
The launch of The Artist had not been successful: only 1.3 million people had followed the first live. Head-on competition from The Voice All Stars on TF1 partly explains this disappointing audience. The show had also been criticized for its length – started at 8:45 p.m., it ended around midnight -, the too many candidates (22) and the fact that they performed covers and not titles that they themselves wrote and composed while The Artist has the ambition to highlight authors and composers.
