One day after the fire: Karl’s adventure village in Elstal is open again

One day after the fire in Karl’s adventure village in Havelland, the amusement park wants to return to normal. On Wednesday morning, the first breakfast guests were already there. The investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to continue for a few days.

After the fire in the amusement park Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Elstal (Havelland), operations resumed on Wednesday. The first breakfast guests had already arrived, said the founder, Robert Dahl, on Wednesday morning. Employees would have spoken of a normal morning business. According to Dahl, the usual number of guests appeared. The amusement park founder had already announced this step on Tuesday evening in rbb24 Brandenburg.

Dahl told rbb that he had a “huge feeling of gratitude” towards the emergency services. He also praised the cooperation of the employees and rescue workers. He was glad that – apart from smoke inhalation – apparently no one was seriously injured, said Dahl.

Also, relatively few visitors were on site during the fire and all the animals could have been rescued from the burned-down barn. Dahl emphasized that the amusement park has not lost a single attraction. In the coming days, police investigations are to be carried out into the cause of the fire. According to the founder Dahl, the clean-up work and reconstruction will then begin.

According to the fire department, ten people were injured in the fire on Tuesday. According to the police, four people were taken to the hospital on suspicion of smoke inhalation. They have all been released now. A fire department spokesman estimated the property damage at a six-digit sum.
