He had been living in Orne for several years. Married to a British national, Omar Bin Laden, one of the sons of the jihadist Osama Bin Laden, will no longer be able to stay in Normandy. Nor will he be able to stay in France. This Tuesday, the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau announced that an administrative ban on French territory had been issued by the authorities, who obtained the departure of Omar Bin Laden.
To justify this choice, the Minister of the Interior indicated that the respondent “hosted comments on his social networks in 2023 that were an apology for terrorism”. A reference to a tweet published on May 2the anniversary of the death of his father, founder of Al-Qaeda and mastermind of the September 11 attacks in the United States. “As a result, the prefect of Orne took an OQTF”, an obligation to leave French territory and “obtained the departure” of Omar Bin Laden, added the minister in a tweet.
French justice would have “confirmed the regularity” of this decision, which guarantees “the impossibility for Omar Bin Laden to return to France”.
