OM have their first recruit with the arrival of attacking midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi on Monday

Pablo Longoria has plenty of ideas. Already very interested in Ruslan Malinovskyi last summer, the president of OM had come up against the demands of the leaders of Atalanta Bergamo. But he maintained contact, and his perseverance should be rewarded on Monday. The Team and RMC announce that the Ukrainian attacking midfielder, after having passed his medical examination, will sign up for a six-month loan with an obligatory purchase option, estimated at 10 million euros plus bonuses.

Champions League experience

Malinovskyi, international with 7 goals in 51 caps, should sign a three-year contract at OM at the end of the season. It’s a nice move for the Marseille club, in search of attacking reinforcements after the serious injury of Amine Harit and the departure of Gerson. It is also a welcome new breath for the Ukrainian player, below his standards since the start of the Serie A season, to the point of losing his essential status.

In three and a half seasons in Bergamo, Malinovskyi took part in 138 games (28 goals), including 18 in the Champions League. Atalanta had reached the C1 quarter-finals in 2019-2020, then the round of 16 the following season. It is therefore a talented and experienced player who arrives in Marseille, with the aim of grabbing the Ligue 1 podium at the end of the season.
