an interview given to JDD. The Minister of Health thus unveiled in the Sunday weekly the prevention device that will be deployed this summer in order to continue to fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Around 500,000 self-performed tests delivered to the prefectures

“We are going to increase the number of collective self-tests. It is not a question of replacing the PCR tests or the antigenic tests but of adding an additional mesh to our net ”, explains Olivier Véran, assuring that several million of these kits will be present“ everywhere ”on the resorts this year. summer. And the minister clarified: “they should be distributed free of charge on the beaches, in campsites, hotels or sports halls. “

According to JDD, approximately 500,000 self-performed tests have been delivered to the prefectures for precarious populations and other state stocks must supply certain employers in the public and private sectors.

Note that the executive will “rely on Covid referents, trained to support the population (…) on vacation spots, in campsites, in colonies”. In the event of contamination, these 2,000 “anti-Covid mediators” will be able, according to Olivier Véran, to “carry out tests, health surveys or provide home isolation assistance by supporting the health insurance brigades “.

Fight against the emergence of the “very very contagious” variant Delta in France.

Side tracking strategy, the government will set up “from the beginning of July and after experiments” a “retrospective Japanese-style tracing much more effective”, announces Olivier Véran. According to JDD, “A thorough investigation will also be systematically carried out upstream to find out who infected [une personne testée positive au Covid-19] and under what circumstances ”.

Finally, “if a person contaminated by the Delta variant refuses to respond to the Health Insurance teams or to respect the sheltering instructions,” an alert will be made to the prefects “who can” take isolation measures. “, Concludes Olivier Véran, who concludes by recalling that the government wants to fight against the emergence of the“ very very contagious ”variant Delta in France.
