The rapper Fat Comedy attacked comedian Oliver Pocher in a boxing match and hit him in the face. In a video, the 44-year-old has now commented on the incident for the first time.

During a boxing match in Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle, comedian Oliver Pocher was the victim of a physical attack on Saturday evening. Video footage shows a man approaching the 44-year-old and hitting him in the face with full force. The attacker is said to be a rapper and comedian with the stage name Fat Comedy. The police are investigating for assault.

That’s what Oliver Pocher says about the slap in the boxing match

Now Pocher has commented on the incident for the first time. In a video he posted to his Instagram page, he said: “You can’t do that. There are no two opinions on that. It’s not very funny either. When you’re at a boxing match, it’s about people box in the ring but don’t get hit in front of it.”

He called the attack “cowardly, sneaky and malicious” and reported that he had been to the doctor. “If I’m unlucky, I have irreparable damage that doesn’t go back. I have to undergo treatment at the moment, we’re trying to get it under control again. But I can’t hear certain frequency ranges at the moment,” said Pocher.

He didn’t expect the attack at all and was “surprised and perplexed”. You could verbally “slap everything around your ears,” said the comedian, but the slap is a physical injury that must have legal consequences. “I hope for a maximum penalty, also with a deterrent effect.” He wants to donate a possible compensation for pain and suffering, said Pocher.

He also criticized the lack of moral courage among other guests in the audience and the security staff at the boxing event did not really intervene. A dispute has now broken out between the boxing promoter and the hall operator as to how the attack could have come about in the first place. Both blame each other. Pocher called the boxing match in his video a “cucumber event” that he only attended because of his long-standing friendship with athlete Felix Sturm.
