The ink is dry: FC Bayern Munich strengthens with midfield jewel Hyun-ju Lee. The South Korean initially comes on loan.

Bayern Munich have signed midfield jewel Hyun-ju Lee from South Korean first division club Pohang Steelers. The record champions officially announced on Friday what GOAL and SPOX had previously reported.

The 18-year-old South Korean will initially come to Säbener Straße on loan until the end of the season and is scheduled to act as a second substitute. Bayern then has a purchase option.

Jochen Sauer, head of the FC Bayern Campus said: “After Oliver Batista-Meier changed clubs, we were able to fill a new squad for the amateur squad. Hyunju convinced us in trial training and we made the decision to sign him. We’re happy to that he will play for our amateurs from now on and we hope for a successful second half of the season together.”

FC Bayern Munich: Lee is considered one of the greatest talents in the country

Lee is considered one of the greatest talents of his age at home and scores above all with his strong technique and good ball handling.

Bayern had previously signed goalkeeper talent Liu Shaoziyang from China for the U19s. With the 16-year-old defender Matteo Perez Vinlof from the Swedish Hammarby IF another player will soon strengthen the youth team.
