The former Bayern player Holger Badstuber is aiming for a coaching job and would like to play in the Bundesliga in the long term.
Holger Badstuber officially ended his playing career about two weeks ago, closing a chapter that brought both ups and downs. However, the 33-year-old will not turn his back on the football stage and would like to start a coaching career.
“What if?” is the question that Holger Badstuber has asked himself regularly. The central defender, who went from 0 to 100 in van Gaal’s time, suffered a serious injury at a young age and was able to start his successful career at the FC Bayern not continue. This was followed by changes to Stuttgart, Schalke and Switzerland. But Badstuber couldn’t match his earlier achievements.

In the future, however, Badstuber may be able to benefit above all from the difficult sections, from which one learns the most, as is well known. “It was one of my responsibilities to be a role model,” explained the ex-player, who has learned that life is about “keeping going”.
Badstuber would like to pass on his experience as a trainer. “I want to gather my experience in the youth field and then see where it should go,” explained Badsuber. He is a “guy for senior or professional football”, but would like to take his time and continue his education. “Someday I want to be in the Bundesliga appear”, is his long-term goal. A coaching job abroad is also an option for Badstuber, who would like to start his coaching career in 2023.
