One of Donald Sutherland’s favorite anecdotes is about his first audition for a film. That was in 1962. Sutherland met with the director, the screenwriter and the producer for the casting. Afterwards, he went home and when his then wife asked him how it went, he answered: “pretty well.” He had a good feeling, but didn’t want to jinx anything.
